The Head & The Hand is a nonprofit, independent book publisher and writers’ workshop located in Philadelphia.

Tracey Levine grew up in northeast Philadelphia and teaches creative writing and film courses at Arcadia University where she coordinates the creative writing concentration for undergraduates. She has worked on many documentary projects for WHYY and her creative writing work has appeared in Verbal Seduction, Metropolis VoxPop, Literary Mothers, The Literary Yard, The Halcyon Review, Corner Club Press, Streetlight Mag, Eunoia Press, Crack the Spine, and The Philadelphia City Paper. She currently lives in Philadelphia with her cat and boyfriend. She is a yogi and plays darts in a dart league and is hard at work on a collection of short fiction and a longer thing.

Maryan Captan is an Egyptian-American performance poet who has been working, teaching, and performing in Philadelphia since 2008. Maryan leads experimental poetry workshops and hosts readings at The Head & The Hand Press and serves as Art Director and Event Coordinator for APIARY Magazine.

Adrianna is known for her kick ass meatballs, and she likes to deludes herself with the belief that if she yells at the TV loud enough, the Phillies will hear her in Citizen's Bank Park. She currently works in Center City, editing medical periodicals and arguing with authors about Oxford commas. Her work has appeared in the Rust Belt Rising Almanac and The Corn Belt Almanac.

Nic Esposito is the author of the novel Seeds of Discent and the memoir essay collection Kensington Homestead. Both of these books were inspired by Nic's career as an urban farmer in Philadelphia. He currently is the co-manager of Emerald Street Community Farm with his wife Elisa and he's the founder of The Head & The Hand Press and The Head & The Hand Workshop.
